MEDITATION

Meditation is of great importance to your spiritual development. If you want to open up spiritually and contact your guides and helpers this is a must. It is a beautiful experience enabling you to clear your mind of the clutter that bogs us down in our material lives. Lifting us to the freedom of the spirit where true peace can be found. Initially, when you first start to meditate, you will probably find it hard to quiet the mind, I know I did. I kept thinking about the shopping, the washing, what so and so said to me, this I found frustrating, they call it mind noise. The only way to get over this is, when these material thoughts come into your mind is to either acknowledge them and let them go or put it in a bubble and see it float away telling yourself that you're meditating and you don't want conscious thoughts invading your meditation.

Our conscious mind is dominant and tries to stop the subconscious from daydreaming. So, in meditation we have to try to relax the conscious minds control over the subconscious to help our communication with spirit. This may sound quite hard but it will happen in time, the more you meditate the easier it gets, you just have to be a little patient and know that spirit are still working with you. When in meditation to link with spirit, the two energies, yours and that of your devoted guides and helpers, need to blend together. So as your aura expands spirit can move a little closer to you, enabling you to pick up their thoughts and inspiration. They do not enter the body, just the aura, so please know this and feel at complete ease with those that love you.

As you and your guide are blending you will feel different sensations, I totally enjoy these as I know spirit are with me and find it reassuring. There are many different feelings you will feel and not all at the same time, you may feel tingling sensations, itchy, your heart rate may increase a little, you may feel hot or cold, a vibration, you may even get a slight headache. However, if you feel uncomfortable with this, just send a thought to spirit and ask them to stand back a little, after a few moments you will feel the difference.

Be dedicated in what you do, for if spirit know that you want to help mankind in any way they will go all out to see that you do. Ideally you should set a time and day for meditation and try to stick to that. If you can start off with meditating at least twice a week for fifteen minutes a time, you're heading in the right direction. As you progress, you will find that your meditations will get deeper, bringing you more knowledge and understanding. You will find that your clairvoyance, clairsentience, clairaudience and healing will gain strength. You have to be dedicated and a little patient, but it will come.

Gradually increase that to what suits you and your lifestyle and you will certainly see the difference. Please do not meditate if you have had any alcohol or taken drugs, I personally do not recommend that, have a clear head for the purest results. There are mischievous spirits out there. Like attracts like, good attracts good. Always ask for help and guidance from the highest source. When meditating you have to use your imagination and visualise, this initially helps spirit to communicate with you, trust in yourself and your guides and let it flow. You will question yourself as everyone does at first and, yes, your own mind will come into it a little, but keep going and, as you progress, you will know what you see comes from the spirit.

Some people find it hard to visualise, they see colours or the odd glimpse of something, everyone is different. Do not be hard on yourself if this happens to you as you are not alone, it will happen later. Spirit are still working with you in every sense. I feel it important to keep a diary because quite often something will happen that you saw or heard in meditation and it is confirmed later.

There are a few different ways to open up to start your meditation, you can open your energy centres or chakras, visualise a flower opening, a gate opening or a door. I personally say a prayer asking for the highest and purest. To close, you just reverse the process and thank our spirit friends for coming. Closing is important to do or you will find yourself becoming ultra sensitive in your material life. You wouldn't leave home with your front door open would you? It's the same principle.

WHAT IS MEDITATION AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
When we meditate, we shift our minds from our every day hectic way of thinking into a conscious form of thinking and breathing. We take our thinking minds out of the picture and access into something more powerful and limitless. When our minds are peaceful, we go into a state of altered consciousness.

WHICH IS THE BEST WAY TO MEDITATE?
You should find a meditation that suits you. There are many different ways. Sitting in silence or with soft music, chanting, drumming, these are a few ways. Some people meditate whilst gardening or walking.

I FIND IT HARD TO STOP MY MIND THINKING ABOUT EVERY DAY THINGS. HOW CAN I STOP THIS?
When you first start to meditate, most people find it hard to stop thinking. They call it mind noise. As you meditate and a thought comes to mind, either put it in a bubble and send it up and out or just acknowledge it and let it go. Gradually you will find that the more you meditate, the quieter your thinking mind becomes.

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I MEDITATE?
I feel that you should meditate as often as you feel comfortable with, considering your life style. I can't stress enough how important meditation is to your development. If you can start off with fifteen minutes once or twice a week, and then slowly increase the time and days, it really would be for your benefit. There are no rules, just be comfortable with what you can do. However I would say, make it a regular thing.

WHAT IS A GUIDED MEDITATION?
A guided visualisation is easier for a lot of people to follow as you are following directions. It is hard for some to remember and memorise instructions while they are trying to relax. Guided meditation CDs have beautiful background music and usually the voice is softly spoken, enabling you to drift easily into an altered state.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A PASSIVE AND AN ACTIVE MEDITATION?
Passive is when the mind is still and you are an observer to what is going on. Active can mean that within your meditation, you are reflecting on spiritual matter or your development etc.

WHY DO A LOT OF PEOPLE LIKE TO MEDITATE TO MUSIC?
Music is therapeutic to the soul. As said before, sometimes having an active mind interferes with the process of meditating. Listening intently to music actually helps beat mind noise. Music alters the biochemistry in our body and brain. It makes you more relaxed, enabling you to shift consciousness.

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO KEEP A DIARY?
I personally feel that keeping a diary that contains your messages and visions you receive through your meditations is vitally important. Sometimes we see things in meditation and hear things that do not make sense or are predictive. By having a diary, you can always look back to have things confirmed another day. Another reason is it is a progress report. When I look back at my diary, I am amazed at how my meditations have changed and advanced, and are continuing to do so.

HOW DO I OPEN UP?
It is a simple process. You just use your mind and visualise. There are many ways to do this and it is up to you what you feel comfortable with. Here are a few suggestions. Imagine your chakras or energy centres being closed lotus flowers. Starting at the base, open these flowers one by one, reaching the crown. You can simply open a door or watch a flower opening up; there are many ways, it's all done by the thought process. I personally say a prayer. To end your meditation, it is as simple as reversing the process.

WHAT DOES BLENDING WITH SPIRITS MEAN?
We all have an energy or aura that surrounds us. Spirits are beings of energy and spiritual life forces. When we are in a meditative state, spirit draw close to us to enable us to pick up their communication. They have to blend their vibrations with ours to make the communication possible.

WHY DO I FEEL ODD SENSATIONS?
There are a few reasons for this. I always find them comforting, it's all part of the blending. Another reason is that spirit have to work with our energy centres to enable us to develop. You may feel a slight pressure around your head or elsewhere, even a slight headache. A vibration is sometimes felt, a feeling of being hot or cold. It is quite normal to have feelings of cobwebs on your face. All these are quite normal experiences, however, if you do feel uncomfortable, just ask spirit to take the feeling away.

SHOULD I ASK OUR SPIRIT FRIENDS QUESTIONS?
Of course. If you don't understand something, or want to know something, you must question. When spirit answers you, it is usually a form of telepathy. You will probably think at first that you are making it up, but trust in spirit and yourself, and gradually it will become stronger. It will sound like your words and vocabulary, however, do not worry. As you progress with your meditations, it will all become stronger. Write it in your diary.

ARE ALL SPIRITS GOOD?
There is very little to fear, but we all have gatekeepers to protect us. Like attracts like. There are some spirits who are lost and confused and some have a bit of an attitude and need help being guided to the light. This doesn't happen very often, but it's good to know. Always ask your gatekeeper to be with you in meditation.
